Copa del Mundo de Ciclocross
Uno de los eventos más importantes del ciclocross llega por segundo año consecutivo a Benidorm. Este fin de semana tendrá lugar el mundial de ciclocross. Los actos del evento darán comiendo el sábado 20 con los entrenamientos oficiales de 14:00 a 16:00.
El día grande es el domingo 21, dando comienzo a las 8:30 con entrenamientos oficiales hasta las 9:20. La primera de las carreras será la Carrera Juvenil Masculina (MJ) de 9:30 a 10:20, seguida de la carrera Juvenil Femenina (WJ), de 10:30 a 11:20. Tras la Carrera Femenina tendrá lugar otro entrenamiento oficial, de 11:20 a 11:50, y posteriormente le tocará el turno a la categoría Sub23 Masculina, empezando la carrera a las 12:00 hasta la 13:00. Tras esta carrera, habrá otro entrenamiento oficial de 13:00 a 13:30, seguido dela Carrera de la Elite Femenina (WF) de la 13:40 a 14:40. Y para poner el broche de oro al evento, finalizará con la Carrera de la Elite Masculina (ME) DE 15:10 A 16:20.
Por segundo año consecutivo, la Copa del Mundo de Ciclocross UCI disfrutará de una participación envidiable con la presencia del ‘Big Three’ masculino conformado por Mathieu Van der Poel, Wout van Aert y Tom Pidcock y también del femenino con Fem van Empel, Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado y Puck Pieterse.
Festes de Sant Antoni
Como cada año, vuelven las Fiestas de Sant Antoni. En ellas se podrá disfrutar de un buen ambiente con DJ, disfrutar de una partida de pilota valenciana en el trinquet «Vicente Pérez Devesa», precios populares, y el hecho más destacable de esta festividad, tener la oportunidad de bendecir a las mascotas en la plaza de L’Ermita de Sanç.

Clases de Buceo

Teatro infantil «Un zapato, un poeta y su nieta»
El sábado 20 a las 18h, el Salón de actos del Ayuntamiento estará repleto de magia gracias a la obra «Un Zapato, un poeta y su nieta».
«Un día de mucho viento una niña encuentra un zapato y desde ese momento todo cambia. La niña inicia una aventura en la que busca a Federico García Lorca. Un viaje en el que conocerá a personajes imaginados que la llevan al camino que abriga la sombra del poeta.»
La compañía La Subterránea, que ha recibido numerosos premios y nominaciones en certámenes a lo largo de su carrera, como ser finalista de los Premios Max en el año 2018, será la encargada de escenificar la obra. La interpretación correrá a cargo de Ester Medrano y Lucía Sáez.
IV Regata de la Liga SUMA de remo
La regata de remo sobre banco fijo tendrá comienzo a las 9 de la mañana del domingo 21. La previsión apunta a la participación de 60 equipos procedentes de 15 clubs de toda la Comunidad Valenciana y un total de 540 deportistas en modalidades que van desde cadetes a veteranos masculinos y femeninos, además de los equipos de SCM (Superado el Cáncer de Mama).
El Club Náutico de Benidorm será el anfitrión de esta competición cuyo recorrido previsto tendrá una longitud de 5.000 metros para los equipos absolutos, veteranos, juveniles y SCM y de 2.000 metros para los cadetes. La salida tendrá lugar cerca del espigón con el fin de que desde el puerto se puedan contemplar los inicios de cada prueba. Desde ahí partirán hasta la playa del Tío Ximo en el Rincón de Loix para tomar las balizas y dirigirse de nuevo hacia el puerto.
La regata en cuestión presentará una dificultad especial debido a las condiciones climatológicas ya que se anticipan vientos de hasta 8 nudos. La organización ha animado a todos los aficionados al mar y a las regatas a que acudan el domingo al Club Náutico para apreciar la belleza de este deporte, el remo.
Concierto y presentación del disco libro «100 años en la carretera»
En la tarde del viernes, a las 19h, el Salón de Actos del Ayuntamiento albergará la presentación del disco libro ‘100 años en la carretera’. El concierto presentación tendrá entrada gratuita hasta completar aforo.
El «librisco» rinde un emocionante homenaje a la vida y legado de Jack Kerouac (1922-1969), un pilar esencial de la Beat Generation cuya influencia revolucionó la literatura a nivel mundial. Este trabajo es el resultado de la unión de talentos movidos por una profunda admiración hacia el autor de «On the Road». Su biografía musical profundiza en el impacto del jazz en esos escritores y destaca cómo Kerouac inspiró a músicos de renombre como Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Patti Smith, Van Morrison, David Bowie y Grateful Dead, entre otros.
A lo largo del libro, diversos artículos abordan la obra de Kerouac desde múltiples perspectivas, impregnándolas de una intensa carga emocional y poética. Miguel López aporta su talento como autor de las letras, mientras que Jorge Flaco Barral se erige como la fuerza musical que impulsa este proyecto sonoro.

Plans for the weekend from 12th until 14th of January
Are you spending the weekend in Benidorm but don’t know what plans are available for these days? In this post, we provide you with a list of things you can do this weekend.

Cyclocross Worldcup
One of the most important cyclocross events returns for the second consecutive year to Benidorm. This weekend, the Cyclocross World Championship will take place. The event activities will start on Saturday 20th with official training sessions from 2pm to 4pm.
The big day is Sunday 21st, starting at 8:30am with official training until 9:20am. The first race will be the Men’s Junior Race (MJ) from 9:30am to 10:20am, followed by the Women’s Junior Race (WJ), from 10:30am to 11:20am. After the Women’s Race, there will be another official training session, from 11:20am to 11:50am, and then it will be the turn of the Men’s Under-23 category, with the race starting at 12:00pm until 13:00pm. After this race, there will be another official training session from 13:00pm to 13:30pm, followed by the Women’s Elite Race (WF) from 13:40pm to 14:40pm. And to put the finishing touch to the event, it will conclude with the Men’s Elite Race (ME) FROM 15:10pm TO 16:20pm.
For the second consecutive year, the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup will enjoy an enviable participation with the presence of the men’s ‘Big Three’ made up of Mathieu Van der Poel, Wout van Aert and Tom Pidcock and also the women’s ‘Big Three’ with Fem van Empel, Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado and Puck Pieterse.
Sant Antoni Festival
As every year, the Sant Antoni Festivities return. In them, you can enjoy a great atmosphere with a DJ, have fun watching a game of Valencian pilota in the «Vicente Pérez Devesa» trinquet, take advantage of popular prices, and, most notably, have the opportunity to bless pets in the L’Ermita de Sanç square.

Children’s theatre «A shoe, a poet and his granddaughter»
On Saturday 20th at 18h, the Assembly Hall of the Town Hall will be full of magic thanks to the play «A Shoe, a poet and his granddaughter».
Synopsis: «One windy day a little girl finds a shoe and from that moment on everything changes. The girl starts an adventure in search of Federico García Lorca. A journey in which she will meet imaginary characters that lead her to the path that shelters the poet’s shadow».
The company La Subterránea, which has received numerous awards and nominations in competitions throughout its career, such as being a finalist for the Max Awards in 2018, will be in charge of staging the play.

IV SUMA Rowing League Regatta
The fixed-bank rowing regatta will start at 9am on Sunday 21st. The forecast points to the participation of 60 teams from 15 clubs from all over the Valencian Community and a total of 540 athletes in categories ranging from cadets to male and female veterans, in addition to the SCM (Overcome Breast Cancer) teams.
The Benidorm Yacht Club will host this competition whose course will be 5,000 metres long for the absolute, veterans, youth and SCM teams and 2,000 metres for the cadets. The start will take place near the breakwater so that the start of each race can be seen from the harbour. From there they will set off to the Tío Ximo beach in Rincón de Loix to take the markers and head back towards the port.
The race in question will be particularly difficult due to the weather conditions as winds of up to 8 knots are expected. The organisers have encouraged all sea and regatta fans to come along on Sunday to appreciate the beauty of this sport, rowing.
Presentation of the book album «100 años en la carretera»
On Friday evening, at 19h, the Town Hall Assembly Hall will host the presentation of the album book ‘100 años en la carretera’ (100 years on the road). The concert presentation will have free admission until full capacity is reached.
The book album pays a moving tribute to the life and legacy of Jack Kerouac (1922-1969), an essential pillar of the Beat Generation whose influence revolutionised literature worldwide. This work is the result of the union of talents driven by a deep admiration for the author of «On the Road». His musical biography delves into the impact of jazz on these writers and highlights how Kerouac inspired renowned musicians such as Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Patti Smith, Van Morrison, David Bowie and the Grateful Dead, among others.
Throughout the book, various articles approach Kerouac’s work from multiple perspectives, imbuing them with an intense emotional and poetic charge. Miguel López contributes his talent as the author of the lyrics, while Jorge Flaco Barral is the musical force behind this sound project.
