The Museu Boca del Calvari in Benidorm is hosting The Women of Goya, a fascinating exhibition featuring 83 engravings by the renowned Spanish painter, created between 1799 and 1824. Through four of his iconic series – Los Caprichos, La Tauromaquia, The Disasters of War, and Los Disparates – Goya portrays women as central figures in his work, breaking away from the traditional passive role assigned to them by many artists of his time.
Using techniques such as etching and aquatint, the artist offers a critical and profound vision of the society of his era. This exhibition is a unique opportunity to discover his genius and the significance of female representation in his work.
