Un año más el Pride se coronará como la mejor fiesta de Benidorm con la décimo cuarta edición del Benidorm Pride Festival.
La semana del 2 al 8 de septiembre disfruta de eventos tematizados, música en directo, fiestas y sobre todo del gran acto final del Pride, el Desfile del Orgullo el 8 de septiembre.
60 años desde Pretex, el primer bar Gay de Benidorm
En 1962, Benidorm fue testigo de la apertura de Pretex, considerado el primer bar gay de la ciudad. Este local desafió las normas de la dictadura franquista, marcando el inicio de un espacio de libertad para la comunidad LGTBI en una España aún conservadora. Pretex y otros bares similares sembraron la semilla de lo que hoy es una próspera zona de bares de ambiente en el casco antiguo, contribuyendo a la reputación de Benidorm como un destino LGTBI friendly.
Aquel local fue un primer paso hacia la visibilización y la reivindicación de los derechos del colectivo LGBTQ+ en España. Desde entonces, Benidorm ha mantenido su reputación como un lugar de inclusión y diversidad, evolucionando hasta convertirse en uno de los destinos turísticos más importantes para la comunidad LGBTQ+ en Europa. El Benidorm Pride, que se celebra cada año, es un testimonio vivo de esta historia de valentía y celebración de la diversidad.
Una semana llena de eventos que no te puedes perder
Benidorm se une a la celebración del Orgullo con el Benidorm Pride Festival, una semana dedicada a la celebración ininterrumpida del Orgullo, con eventos tematizados, fiestas y música en directo.
Consulta la agenda del Benidorm Pride Festival:
Miércoles 4 – Salón de Actos del Ayuntamiento a las 20h, se proyectará el documental «Pride» y el cortometraje «Muerta en la bañera» de Juan Dresán, donde además será reconocido con el «Premio Tolerancia LGBT».
Queen of Benidorm Pride en Ku Lounge Café (Paseo de la Playa de Levante), 19:00h, entrada 10€.
Jueves 5 – Pool Party en Hotel Marina Resort Benidorm, con Angie Brown, entrada 25€.
Viernes 6 – White Party décimo aniversario en el Auditorio Julio Iglesias, entrada 10€.
Sábado 7 – Benidorm Pride Parade, con salida a las 17:00h desde el Rincón de Loix, en el McDonald’s de la Playa de Levante, y terminará con una gran celebración en el Auditorio Julio Iglesias.
Main Stage Party en el Auditorio Julio Iglesias, 19:00h, colofón final del Desfile del Orgullo.
Domingo 8 – ‘Closing Party’, el broche final de la semana del Benidorm Pride Festival. En el Anfiteatro Oscar Esplá a partir de las 19:00h, con entrada gratuita y servicio de barra y bar.
Exposición «Referentes LGTBI Voices»
Del 2 al 8 de septiembre, en el marco del Benidorm Pride 2024, la Casa del Fester (c/ la Biga nº 3) acogerá la exposición «Referentes LGTBI Voices». Esta muestra, organizada en colaboración con los Ayuntamientos de Benidorm y Fuenlabrada, rinde homenaje a figuras clave del colectivo LGTBI a través de vibrantes ilustraciones.
La exposición estará abierta al público durante toda la semana del festival, ofreciendo una oportunidad para reflexionar sobre la importancia de la diversidad y la lucha por los derechos LGTBI. La entrada es gratuita.

«Cine con Orgullo» en Benidorm
La Concejalía de Igualdad de Benidorm y la Asociación Turismo L.G.B.T. Benidorm organizan el evento «Cine con Orgullo» el miércoles 4 de septiembre a las 20:00 horas en el salón de actos del Ayuntamiento de Benidorm. Se proyectará el cortometraje “Muerta en la Bañera” dirigido por Juan Dresán, seguido de la película «Pride» de Matthew Warchus. Disfruta de una tarde de cine inclusivo como parte del Benidorm Pride Festival.
Desfile del Orgullo, Benidorm Pride Parade
Este año, la esperada cita del Benidorm Pride tendrá lugar el sábado 7 de septiembre. El desfile comenzará a las 17:00 horas, partiendo desde el Rincón de Loix. El recorrido seguirá el paseo marítimo de la Playa de Levante, para luego adentrarse en la Avenida del Mediterráneo, finalizando en la Pride Arena en el Auditorio Julio Iglesias del Parque de L’Aigüera. Aquí, la fiesta continuará con música en vivo, DJs y mucho más en el Main Stage.
Una de las grandes novedades de este año es la participación del Benidorm Fest en la gran ‘Parade’. La carroza oficial contará con la presencia de Sofía Martín y Jorge González como artistas invitados. Ambos intérpretes no solo desfilarán, sino que también actuarán en la gran gala que se celebrará al término del desfile en el Auditorio Julio Iglesias.
El recorrido del desfile es verdaderamente especial, bordeando la costa y ofreciendo unas vistas espectaculares del Mar Mediterráneo. Durante todo el trayecto, el paseo se llenará de vibrantes carrozas, deslumbrantes drag queens, y una multitud diversa que llega desde todas partes del mundo para disfrutar de este evento lleno de color y alegría.
¿Por qué es tan especial el Benidorm Pride?
Con la celebración del Orgullo, a parte de disfrutarlo y celebrarlo, se pretende reivindicar la diversidad y la inclusión del colectivo. Todo el mundo es bienvenido en Benidorm, sin importar su lugar de origen, identidad de género, ni orientación sexual.
Queremos celebrar la vida y el amor en todas sus formas, y una manera de hacerlo es con el Benidorm Pride Festival, el broche final del pride europeo, y la mejor manera de despedir el verano.

Once again, Pride will be crowned the best party in Benidorm with the fourteenth edition of the Benidorm Pride Festival.

Más de 60 Years Since Pretex, the First Gay Bar in Benidorm
In 1962, Benidorm saw the opening of Pretex, considered the city’s first gay bar. This venue challenged the norms of Franco’s dictatorship, marking the beginning of a space of freedom for the LGTBI community in a still conservative Spain. Pretex and similar bars planted the seeds for today’s thriving LGBTQ+ scene in the old town, contributing to Benidorm’s reputation as an LGBTQ+ friendly destination.
This establishment was a first step towards visibility and the fight for LGBTQ+ rights in Spain. Since then, Benidorm has maintained its reputation as a place of inclusion and diversity, evolving into one of the most important tourist destinations for the LGBTQ+ community in Europe. The Benidorm Pride, celebrated every year, is a living testimony to this history of bravery and celebration of diversity.
A week of events not to be missed
Benidorm joins the Pride celebrations with the Benidorm Pride Festival, a week dedicated to the uninterrupted celebration of Pride, with themed events, parties and live music.

Wednesday 4th – In the Town Hall Auditorium at 8:00 p.m., the documentary «Pride» and the short film «Muerta en la bañera» by Juan Dresán will be screened, where he will also be honoured with the «LGBT Tolerance Award».

Thursday 5th – Pool party at the Hotel Marina Resort Benidorm, with Angie Brown, entry 25€.
Friday 6th – Tenth Anniversary White Party at the Julio Iglesias Auditorium, entry 10€.
Saturday 7th – Benidorm Pride Parade, starting at 17:00 from Rincón de Loix, at the McDonald’s on Levante Beach, ending with a big party at the Auditorio Julio Iglesias .

Sunday 8th – Closing Party, which will be the final event of the Benidorm Pride week. At the Oscar Esplá Amphitheatre from 7 p.m. onwards, with free entry and bar service.
Exhibition «LGTBI Voices: Key Figures»
From the 2nd to the 8th of September, as part of Benidorm Pride 2024, the Casa del Fester (c/ la Biga nº 3) will host the «LGTBI Voices: Key Figures» exhibition. This showcase, organised in collaboration with the City Councils of Benidorm and Fuenlabrada, pays tribute to prominent figures in the LGTBI community through vibrant illustrations.
The exhibition will be open to the public throughout the festival week, providing an opportunity to reflect on the importance of diversity and the ongoing fight for LGTBI rights. Admission is free.
Benidorm Pride Parade, Benidorm Pride Parade
This year’s date is Saturday 7th September.
The parade starts at 17:00 in the afternoon from the Rincón de Loix. The parade will go along the promenade of the Levante Beach and then continue along the Avenida del Mediterráneo, arriving at the ‘Pride Arena’ in the Auditorio Julio Iglesias (Parque de L’Aigüera), where the party will continue with live music, DJs and much more with the Main Stage Party.
The route of the parade is very special, as it runs along the coast and offers incredible views of the Mediterranean. The promenade is filled with floats, glittering drag queens and a diverse crowd from all over the world.
What makes Benidorm Pride so special?
Pride is not only about having fun and celebrating, it is also about defending the diversity and inclusion of the collective. Everyone is welcome in Benidorm, regardless of their origin, gender identity or sexual orientation.
We want to celebrate life and love in all its forms and one of the ways to do this is with the Benidorm Pride Festival, the final touch of European Pride and the best way to say goodbye to summer.
